Thrift Stores in Talisay, Minglanilla, Consolacion and Cordova: The Outer Towns of Metro Cebu

Forty-odd thrift shops sit outside the three cities, most of them along two highways. Here they are, with the one vintage store south of the city, a renamed Fabulosa, and the shops that open at 7am.

Outside the three cities the thrift map follows the highways. South through Talisay and Minglanilla, north through Consolacion, across the water to Cordova.

Our guides so far have covered Cebu City, Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu, which between them hold about 190 of the thrift shops on Google Maps. This one covers the other forty. Talisay and Minglanilla down the South Road, Consolacion up the north highway, and Cordova across the water on Mactan. Nobody has written these up before, and a few of them deserve it.

A warning about what you’ll find. These are, almost without exception, classic ukay shops. One frontage, two rails, a pile, a hand-written sign. There’s exactly one shop in the whole area that calls itself vintage, one former Fabulosa branch with air-conditioning, and no boutiques of the Mango Avenue type at all. That’s the appeal. Prices are the lowest in Metro Cebu and you will not queue.

The map outside the cities

The shops follow the roads. In Talisay they cluster where the South Road (Natalio Bacalso Avenue) meets the Tabunok junction, then thin out towards Mohon and San Isidro. In Minglanilla they sit on the highway itself in Pakigne and up the hill in Linao. Consolacion has one shop per barangay along the north road. Cordova’s sit on the Poblacion road, near the market. Talisay City

Twenty-two listings across eleven barangays. Tabunok, the junction town, has six. Mohon and San Isidro have three each.

Look Like Lance, Mohon

The one to make a trip for. Look Like Lance describes itself as “a concept Vintage Store in Cebu that provides the best vintage clothing”, and it’s the only shop south of Cebu City using the word. It’s on Fidel Bas Street in Mohon, claimed on Google with photos but no listed hours, so message before you go. A Facebook page called The Vintage Hub Cebu is also based in Talisay. Tabunok: DJ Brands, Raider Queen and the rest

DJ Brands Apparel sells “a mix of used and brand new clothing items mostly from the United States, Australia” and elsewhere, which is worth knowing because “brand new” here means overruns alongside the ukay. Raider Queen Trip to Thrift Shop is in the Ruiz-Caballes Building on Sangi Road with a Facebook page and 9-to-7 hours. Double AR Preloved Closet (8am to 10pm on San Isidro Road), Brylexas, Frances Thrift Shop and Streetstyle Dress make up the cluster.

Dumlog, Mohon and San Isidro

Bingbang Thrift Shop in Dumlog has a Facebook page and daytime hours. Mohon has an open-air ukay market (listed simply as Mohon Ukay-Ukayan), Moniques Corner for “premium thrift bags and dresses”, and Twice but Nice Thrift Store on Mohon Road. San Isidro has CJ’s Apparel & Ukay Bales, which sells by the piece and by the sack from 7am, Charm’s Ukay Collection and 3-A Ukay. Myda’s Store in Linao (the Talisay Linao) runs 7am to 10pm.

Tabunok, where the South Road meets the coastal road. Six thrift shops within a few minutes’ walk, and the jeepneys to all of them.

Minglanilla

Six listings, four of them along or just off the highway. The interesting one is a name change.

Fashion Street, formerly Fabulosa

Google Maps lists the Minglanilla branch of the Fabulosa chain as “Fashion Street (formerly Fabulosa de Fashion)”, open 9am to 8:30pm. Same air-conditioned, on-hangers format, and the only shop in the four towns with it. If you know Fabulosa from Mandaue or Cebu City (our Mandaue guide covers the chain), this is that, closer to home for the south.

Habibi’s and Lorice

Habibi’s Ukay-Ukay is on the highway in Pakigne with a landline number and a Facebook page, both signs of a shop that has been there a while. Lorice Thrift Shoppe in Tungkil sells “from kids to adults” and is the pick if you’re shopping for a family. Inday Amay’s Ukay in Upper Linao, iLumina’s in Villa Purita and M’s Thrift Apparel in Tubod are the rest.

Consolacion

Seven listings, one per barangay, and two with unusual hours. Nebby’s Clotheshoppe in Nangka opens at 7am and closes at 5pm, which suits a morning errand. Hand Picked Thrifted Clothes in Tolotolo describes its stock as “handly picked curated items” and stays open until 11pm, the latest of any shop north of Mandaue. S&M Trendy Collection in Tugbongan is “newly open” and runs 8am to 10pm with pick-up and delivery. Bags & Bargains in Jugan, Pearls Used Clothing Store in Tayud, Sam’s Preloved Bags & Apparel in Casili and Ukay-Ukay Ni Aa in Pitogo complete the list.

Cordova

Seven listings on the island town south of Lapu-Lapu, three of them within a few hundred metres on the Poblacion road. K&A Collection calls itself “your destination for pre-loved treasures” and is open until 9pm. Langkiw Ukay-Ukay and Thrift Thrills Co are the neighbours. Mischelle’s Preloved Shop on Pilipog Road in Dapitan, SKL Ukay PH in Gabi, Poshqueens Boutique in Ibabao and Tere Bella by the Cattleya Gardens memorial park in San Miguel are the others. The Japan surplus corridor

The other second-hand trade in these towns is Japan surplus, and the south corridor through Talisay and Minglanilla holds the biggest cluster in the province. Most of these warehouses sell furniture, appliances and bicycles rather than clothes. The 2026 SurplusFindr guide lists Ashiya Japan Surplus on the coastal road and Fukurou Japan Surplus Furniture Center in San Isidro (both Talisay), Megumi and Hirro in Minglanilla, and, for clothing and soft goods specifically, Sang-Sang’s Japan Surplus in Talisay. Getting there

  • Talisay and Minglanilla. Any jeepney or bus marked Talisay, Tabunok, Minglanilla or Naga from the South Bus Terminal or along N. Bacalso Avenue. Tabunok is about 25 to 40 minutes from Fuente by jeepney, longer in the afternoon. MyBus runs the South Road to Talisay too.
  • Consolacion. Jeepneys marked Consolacion or Liloan from near SM City Cebu along M.C. Briones and the north highway.
  • Cordova. From Lapu-Lapu Poblacion, jeepneys and multicabs marked Cordova. From Cebu City, the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway by car or Grab is the fast way.

Tips for the outer towns

  • Cash. Almost nobody here takes GCash. Small notes.
  • Message first. Half these listings have a phone number and no hours. A text saves a wasted jeepney ride.
  • Mornings. Several open at 7am (Nebby’s, CJ’s, Myda’s). Stock is freshest and the heat is off.

Where is the ukay-ukay in Talisay City?

Talisay has about 22 thrift listings on Google Maps, clustered in Tabunok (six, including DJ Brands Apparel and Raider Queen on Sangi Road), Mohon (three, including the open-air Mohon Ukay-Ukayan and Moniques Corner) and San Isidro (three, including CJ’s Apparel & Ukay Bales, which also sells bales). Look Like Lance in Mohon is the one shop south of the city that calls itself a vintage store.

Is there a Fabulosa in Minglanilla?

There was. Google Maps now lists the branch as “Fashion Street (formerly Fabulosa de Fashion)”, open 9am to 8:30pm, in the Pakigne area near the highway. Same air-conditioned, on-hangers format under a new name. Habibi’s Ukay-Ukay on the highway and Lorice Thrift Shoppe in Tungkil are the other Minglanilla shops with listed hours.

The biggest cluster runs south through Talisay and Minglanilla along the South Road and the coastal road: Ashiya Japan Surplus and Fukurou Japan Surplus Furniture Center in Talisay, Megumi and Hirro in Minglanilla, and Sang-Sang’s Japan Surplus in Talisay for clothing and soft goods. North, Masaya Japan Surplus is on A.S. Fortuna in Mandaue and Senyora Japan Surplus is in Liloan. Most sell furniture and appliances. Sang-Sang’s and E-Nihon Mono in Lahug are the fashion-relevant ones.
